The Estate
Located in the foothills of the Sierra Pintada Mountains with a view of the Andes, our San Rafael, Mendoza based winery and golf estate encompasses over 2,050 acres of picturesque terrain that harmoniously intermingles with working vineyards, fruit, olive, and nut orchards, water reserves, and spectacular tree-lined roads. This remarkable property is a luxury vineyard living estate featuring a world-class winery and tasting room, as well as an 18-hole championship golf course, driving range, two rustically chic hotel lodges, and an award-winning restaurant specializing in authentic Argentine gourmet cuisine. We are also constructing a championship tennis center and clubhouse as well as championship polo fields, an equestrian center and polo clubhouse. Some of the property's original structures, whose elegant rustic style adds a certain element of charm and comfort to the estate's overall character, date as far back as 1921. Algodon Wine Estates' oldest vines were planted in 1946 and are comprised of ten varieties of grapes including Malbec, Argentina's signature varietal. The surrounding resort and golf course frame this vineyard estate, creating an alluring sanctuary of relaxation and tranquility.
As the world's 8th largest country, Argentina hosts a considerable variety of landscapes. The diversity of its terrain makes it an agricultural wonder and one of the greatest food producing and exporting countries in the world. Argentina is synonymous with vast green landscapes, productive vineyards and fine wines, polo fields, soccer and golf, and the welcoming hospitality of a highly cultured society. The charming Argentine people enjoy a high standard of living, and cherish their country's virtues as well as their European heritage. This traditional love of life is evidenced everywhere in the culture, as well as in the people themselves.
"At Algodon Wine Estates, our philosophy is quite simple and distinctly Argentine: we hope to create an environment where the best elements of days past combine with the best elements of the Modern Age, and we continually aspire to elicit a sense a refined culture and a clean and pure appreciation for the good life." --Scott Mathis, Algodon Wine Estates CEO
